If there was a way to make the computer to think that the usb port was still busy it would stay connected. If it is left idle over 10 seconds it seems to disconnect the phone. Check the information you want to transfer such as Data or Third party applications. In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, click Device. Connect the old device to the computer using a USB cable. It seems that as long as the phone is transferring data it stays connected. On your computer, open the BlackBerry Desktop Software. Once it started trying to read off of the phone I unattached it and reattached it and it scanned and backed up my device. When I plug the phone in and attach the phone to Virtualbox by right clicking the usb icon and selecting the Blackberry the desktop manager recognises my phone and shows my pin number. I have the Sprint Blackberry Tour 9630 with Blackberry Desktop Manager 5.0.
I first check with the windows Device Manager and. I am running Ubuntu 9.04 with kernel 2.26.28-11-generic, Virtualbox 3.0.2 with Windows XP Pro install on Virtual Box. If I want to copy several files flac both blackberry Desktop Manager tries to run 5 times for each file. I'm not sure this is the right place but I thought I would try any way.
